Love is certainly in the air in Coventry and Warwickshire – if bookings at a regional hotel are anything to go by.

Coombe Abbey Hotel, which is operated by No Ordinary Hospitality Management (NOHM), has sold out of its luxury, fine dining five-course Valentine’s meal – complete with live pianist – with places for the event booked up in record time.

Forty-two people will be treated to a box of chocolates and a glass of fizz before taking their time over five courses in the historic surroundings of the former 12th Century Cistercian Abbey. More than 50 people will also enjoy the romantic surrounding of The Garden Room Restaurant and feast on the ever popular A La Carte Menu.

Due to such demand, the hotel team is now offering couples who have missed out on the meal a range of other ways to fire Cupid’s Arrow.

A staycation package is available offering a two-night stay in a feature bedroom with a three-course meal and breakfast each morning. Loved-up couples can spend their day enjoying the grounds or exploring other local attractions.

Couples could even take up the No Ordinary Sunday offer on the weekend before Valentine’s Day that offers an overnight stay with breakfast to help avoid the Monday blues.

To add to the romance, bespoke flowers are available from Flowers at Coombe which is based within The Avenue in the grounds of the park, with options to have arrangement placed in a room, on the dining table or available for collection for those celebrating elsewhere.

On top of that, Valentine’s afternoon teas will be available throughout the week with a themed menu to enjoy including heart-shaped shortbread to passion fruit hearts and meringue kisses.

Kathy Nakra, Sales Director at Coombe Abbey Hotel, said: “It’s incredible to have sold out our Valentine’s Day meal with so many weeks to go until the big day – love is definitely in the air in Coventry and Warwickshire!

“As soon as Christmas and New Year had passed, we saw bookings start to come in quite quickly and it was clear we were going to be full to capacity. While people might be cutting costs in some areas, there is obviously an appetite to celebrate special occasions and to enjoy a treat.

“Because of such popularity, we’ve been looking at other ways that we can offer couples the chance to spend Valentines with us whether through a staycation or an afternoon tea.

“And with flowers and gifts to buy within the grounds, our romantic couples will have everything they need to make it a special time.

“I’d urge couples to book in soon because there are quite clearly a lot of romantics out there in the region!”
