A leading Midlands developer is helping to boost the employability skills of people in Warwickshire after donating a group of laptops to a regional charity.
The Deeley Group, which is headquartered in Coventry, has donated 11 refurbished computers to Helping Hands Community Project, a charity which helps vulnerable men, women and their families to transform their lives through supported activities.
The charity, based across Kenilworth, Leamington and Warwick, runs an employability programme which supports adults in gaining vocational qualifications (NVQs) in catering, food hygiene, warehousing, customer service, retail, leadership and management.
The charity organises work through local employers and also offers daytime volunteering opportunities in their Leamington-based charity shop, their kitchen based at Althorpe Street and their House 2 Home stock warehouse.
The scheme is structured to build up people’s confidence and give them skills to help them transition back into the workforce and gain employment in various industries.
The donated laptops will be used as part of the charity’s employability pathway, allowing clients to access online resources that support the charity’s skill-based courses, workshops and training programmes.
Increased access to the internet will also help clients easily access local services, make housing applications and gain further digital skills.
Before Deeley Group’s donation, the devices were professionally cleaned and prepared by Birmingham-based IT company, Tek-nology Solutions to maximise their longevity.

“Since many of our clients do not have access to a computer, they are also a great opportunity for them to gain more skills and experience related to the digital world, supporting their transition back into the workforce.”
