International interest in a major trade exhibition is higher than any time in its near three-decade history ahead of its return to Coventry in November.

The National Painting and Decorating Show, which was first held in 1995, is the biggest event for the painting and decorating industry and regularly attracts more than 3,000 visitors from across the UK.

It is set to take place on Tuesday 21 November and Wednesday 22 November at Coventry Building Society Arena – which will mark the 19th time it has been held at the venue.

Terry Dullaway, event organiser and founder of the National Painting and Decorating Show, says that ahead of this year he has had more interest from overseas suppliers than before, with companies from the USA, Cananda, New Zealand and across Europe all set to exhibit.

He said: “The painting and decorating sector is very active currently and the market is strong, this is reflected in the investment we are seeing from international companies who are interested in gaining a foothold in the UK market.

“The exhibition is proving more attractive than ever before to overseas suppliers and they wouldn’t be investing in attending the show if they didn’t have confidence in the market.

“This year’s show is going to be an international hub for the industry.”

The National Painting and Decorating Show is set to feature more than 100 leading international manufacturers representing thousands of brands, with businesses including Dulux, Crown, Wickes and Brewers among the exhibitors.

The event is also a launchpad for new products and innovations in the industry, with a focus expected this year on more sustainable products and practices.

Hamilton, a leading supplier of high-quality decorating tools, will be among the suppliers revealing major new products at the show.

The show will feature a series of masterclasses, workshops and seminars on innovation and techniques, all run by leading suppliers and businesses in the painting and decorating sector.

Businesses will also be able to access advice on how to sustainably grow and develop their business in the newly launched Business Booster Theatres.

Terry added: “Our show continues to grow and develop, and with that so does our reputation in the sector.

“We say that the show covers everything and it really does. For two days the show is the heart of the painting and decorating sector, with thousands joining us in Coventry to gain the latest insights, explore new innovations and discover how they can take their business to the next level.”

Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, added: “The National Painting and Decorating Show was one of the first exhibitions we ever hosted at the venue and over the last 19 years it has continued to diversify, innovate and grow.

“Our venue is ideally positioned to welcome international visitors, with Birmingham Airport less than 20 minutes away by road and rail.”
