Coventry-based auto parts company continues expansion

A Midlands-based auto parts company that began in a domestic garage has just expanded into a larger unit as it continues to grow.

Advantage Auto Parts was started by entrepreneur Jas Ladwa in 2011, selling a limited number of car parts via platforms such as Ebay.

Over recent years, the company has expanded rapidly and, having moved into a 5,000 sq ft property only last year, it has nearly doubled its footprint with a move to a 8,692 sq ft unit in Binns Close, Coventry.

The company, which employs 15 staff, was assisted in its move by Edward Jenkinson of Midlands-based commercial property specialists Holt Commercial.

Jas said the company was now selling parts – from brake calipers to power steering pumps – across the UK and into Europe.

She said: “We are growing quickly and I have no doubt that we will be looking for more space at some point very soon.

“We are one of the biggest sellers of OEM and aftermarket brake calipers in the UK and that includes our own engineered parts for a whole range of vehicles.

“We have recently expanded our product range to include wheel bearings kits, power steering pumps and control arms, and this is something we will continue to do.

“The secret to our growth is our returning customers. We are not out to expand into every product category but aim to continue our organic growth through serving our customers well, and the Midlands is a perfect central location from which to grow.

“Edward Jenkinson at Holt Commercial was great to deal with and helped us to get the move over the line quickly, which was really important for us. It might be that we will be talking to him again soon because I have no doubt we will need more space in the not-too-distant future.”

Edward said: “It’s great to see a Midlands company expanding and we’re really pleased to have played a part in that.

“When businesses want to expand, it is vitally important for the regional economy that there is the space to grow into and it was great that we had the right unit available that met Advantage Auto Parts’ needs at this stage of its growth.”
