A countdown to herald the holiday season and showcase the tourism and hospitality wonders across Coventry and Warwickshire is set to be launched.
Shakespeare’s England will be hosting a Yuletide celebration to get everyone in the mood for the festivities.
From December 1, the Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for South Warwickshire and the surrounding areas will be playing host to a special advent calendar.
The online event will run for a month on Shakespeare’s England Instagram page - @shakespeares_england with the aim of having a little bit of fun and also showcasing the area and its members.
But not only that, there may be a few giveaways to be had, with some ‘funtastic’ prizes on offer such as a family ticket to The Stratford Butterfly Farm plus a children’s activity book and tropical butterfly identification sheet, Festive Afternoon Teas at Hotel Du Vin, Mallory Court, Arden Hotel and Studley Castle, Afternoon Tea for two at Coombe Abbey, a £50 voucher for Peach Pubs and more to be revealed.
Helen Peters, Chief Executive of Shakespeare’s England, said the new event was designed to spread a little bit of Christmas joy at the end of what has been a hard year.
“It has been an extremely tough year for everyone both personally and professionally, and so we thought we would do something where people can have a little bit of fun,” she said.
“Each day we will be opening a door on our Instagram page where there will be some fantastic photos showcasing the area and Shakespeare’s England Members, but there may also be a special treat that people could be in with a chance of winning.
“It is just a nice way of doing something for the festive season and keeping in people’s minds some of the amazing attractions that are on their doorstep.
“Our Members need our support more than ever, and will continue to do so throughout 2021, so this is the chance to celebrate them and encourage all to visit once it is safe to do so.
“To get involved, all people have to do is follow our Instagram page and daily posts and see what ‘goody’ is behind the calendar doors.”
