Bestselling author to headline major leadership event in Warwickshire

Thursday 7th of September 2023 03:20 PM

An award-winning bestselling author has been announced as the keynote speaker of a free-to-attend event in Leamington for learning and development professionals.

Leadership coach and author Jude Jennison will be the headline speaker at the networking and thought leadership event Meeting of Minds at Ashorne Hill on Friday, September 22.

The topic of the event is ‘To speak or not to speak, is that the question?’ and explores team dynamics and relationships within the business.

Jude will be giving delegates an insight into her career and how she went from a senior management position at technology firm IBM where she led a European budget of $1 billion, to founding Leaders by Nature, a leadership and team development company where she works with a herd of horses to reconnect leaders and teams to their own natural leadership behaviours.

Based on Jude’s best-selling book ‘OPUS: the Hidden Dynamics of Team Performance’, she will also discuss 12 hidden dynamics of team performance.

The free event will enable learning and development professionals to take part in roundtable discussions, share current organisational strategies and challenges, discuss different approaches and speak about current and future learning trends.

It is the second Meeting of Minds event hosted at Ashorne Hill, the first of which delegates were joined by guest speaker Melody Hossaini, a former contestant of The Apprentice and founder and CEO of social enterprise InspirEngage International.

Jude said: “I am extremely pleased to be the keynote speaker at the Meeting of Minds event.

“Many teams are currently overwhelmed by the volume of work, the pressure of adapting to change and balancing changing priorities.

“Team communication is a critical part of the success of any business, and what is not being said has as much impact as the conversations that take place.

“It is therefore important for learning and development professionals to pay attention to the hidden dynamics of nonverbal communication and understand how these can be improved.

“This will be an excellent opportunity for learning and development professionals to come together to discuss the current challenges in the industry and how these could potentially be overcome.”

James Lee, Learning and Development Director at Ashorne Hill, said: “Our Meetings of Minds event will enable champions of learning to come together and meet with like-minded professionals and discuss the latest challenges and developments within the sector.

“The event is open to any learning and development professional from across the UK, whether they are from large corporations, SMEs, HR companies or are self-employed, which means it gives delegates the opportunity to network with a wide range of individuals.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Jude as our keynote speaker. She is a very well-known leadership professional and bestselling author who will be sharing her experiences as well as some fantastic insights around team dynamics.

“Our first Meetings of Minds event was a resounding success and attracted delegates from a number of well-known businesses including DHL, Calor Gas and NFU, and we are delighted that the majority of those who attended have already signed up to our second event.

“They will join a host of other professionals who have also registered their attendance, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the event later this month.”

The event will be held from 9am to midday on Friday, September 22 and will include light snacks, brunch and tea & coffee. Places can be booked by visiting https://ashornehill.co.uk/meetingofminds/
