Apprenticeship opportunities with major regional, national and international employers and training providers are set to be showcased when a national show comes to the West Midlands for the first time.

The National Apprenticeship Show is set to be held at Coventry Building Society Arena on Tuesday, November 8.

It will see more than 40 exhibitors, which is expected to attract thousands of school leavers, college students and adults looking to pursue new careers.

The one-day launch event will help visitors explore Apprenticeship opportunities to kick-start their careers, and also help exhibiting businesses to develop a pipeline of talent to support the future of their operations.

The event comes as Government have reinforced their continual national focus on Apprenticeships following the Skills for Jobs White Paper.

Employers have also been continually encouraged to put more money towards staff and training per year as a result of the Apprenticeship Levy.

The National Apprenticeship Show is organised by NAS Media and is held in 14 different locations across England.

NAS Media continues to grow as a company and now runs 14 events a year across three separate brands.

Simon Bennie, Managing Director at NAS Events, said: “: "The National Apprenticeship Show started with a single event in 2015 and we now hold seven across England. The West Midlands region has always been on our radar and there was no better time to continue expanding as we’ve never been in a stronger position as a business.

“Entering into the West Midlands is natural progression for us and we’re thrilled to be working with national and regional companies alongside Coventry Building Society Arena to debut our West Midlands National Apprenticeship Show. Apprenticeships continue to be on the up and it’s imperative, now more than ever, to ensure people across the region have access to valuable and up to date Apprenticeship information.

“We are committed to making our events as accessible as possible and we're offering specific time slots for Schools and Colleges to access the exhibition during the day, while also providing opportunities later in the day for parents, carers and adult learners to visit for free.

“Exhibitors at the event stretch across all industries, and we have already confirmed attendance from major companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, British Army, DHL, Kwik Fit, Greene King, Marston's, Mitchells & Butlers, Rolls Royce and more.

“We have high hopes for this event and hope it can provide a springboard for expansion of our West Midlands presence in the coming years."

The National Apprenticeship Show is the latest in a line of exhibitions to be attracted to Coventry Building Society Arena, with more than 500 live events through business, entertainment  and sports held in the 2021/22.

The show will be held in the Exhibition Halls at the Arena.

Paul Michael, Commercial Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “The National Apprenticeship Show is an excellent addition to our growing portfolio of events.

“Our central location means that events like this have access to audiences across the Midlands, and for this event in particular access to the thousands of businesses and potential apprentices based here.

“The National Apprenticeship Show has been a huge success around the country and we will be working closely with the organisers to help boost the launch of its West Midlands event here in Coventry.”
