At Drawing Desk Architecture we have a growth-mindset, geared towards creating sustainable and conscientious architecture that places priority on improving the lives of users. In 2022 we are focused on attaining more community and charity projects and find ourselves designing a woman’s refuge and community centre in Rugby alongside providing planning support for a rehabilitation centre in Northamptonshire. The practice is led by the Founder, Parminder Bal, a member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
We desire to grow ourselves professionally and personally by experiencing new places and events. I gain great inspiration from hearing of other local success stories and this is the main reason behind me joining the Champions community.
In our projects at Drawing Desk we are focused on what we call ‘Third-layer design’, which delivers the purpose behind a project. First-layer design is the materiality and second-layer design is achieving the vision. Projects that achieve the third-layer of design have the most powerful and lasting impact. We possess a master-planning mindset, where we aim to connect the site to the area in order to achieve community integration and engagement. We are collaborative, empathetic and mindful enough to absorb the clients vision and understand the purpose.
Our resources and professional community are both key components for achieving success in our projects. I look forward to hearing more local Champions success stories and hope to see the organisation continue to achieve growth and diversity with its professional community.
