Shakespeare’s England is a not-for-profit membership organisation and a public private sector partnership supported by the region’s key tourism businesses and local authorities.
Their role is to encourage visitors to South Warwickshire and the surrounding areas and encourage overnight stays.
Shakespeare’s England is supported and co-funded by Stratford District Council, Warwick District Council and Warwickshire County Council.
Shakespeare’s England is recognised by Visit England and Visit Britain as the official tourism body for the area.
Helen Peters joined Shakespeare’s England as Chief Executive in December 2015, following a career spanning 30 years in Travel & Tourism.
Starting with Horizon Holidays, in Broad Street, Birmingham in the early 1980s, having obtained a BA hons degree in English from Manchester University, Helen went on to work for many of the key outbound travel companies including Intasun, Neilson Leisure Group and Thomas Cook. She moved into cruising joining Crystal Cruises in 2003 followed by 5 years as National Accounts Manager with Silversea.
In 2008 Helen joined Value Retail Ltd as Tourism Director for Bicester Village in Oxfordshire promoting Bicester Village as the Designer Outlet centre in the UK, specifically to the Chinese, SE Asian and Middle Eastern Markets.
