Coventry Citizens Advice was founded in 1939 and since then, we've given advice, information and support to anyone who needs it within Coventry. Our cause never changes which is why we are here to make society fairer. We do that one person at a time, helping people solve their individual problems and build resilience for the future. We do this through quality advice and tailored support, through various channels including face to face advice or over the phone, and we use our knowledge gained from helping local people to campaign on big issues, both locally and nationally.
We deliver more direct services than many people would believe. This ranges from preventing people from being homeless, to working alongside partners in foodbanks, supporting terminally ill clients who need our support, through to supporting young people to break down barriers to ensure they have opportunities which others may take for granted.
We are a registered charity affiliated with the well-known national brand of Citizens Advice, but our work is Coventry focused and we fundraise locally to support local people, governed by our own independent board of trustees.
The demand for our services continues to increase with changes to welfare reform and social policy. We continue to work alongside our partners across the city to look at how we can continue to deliver our free, impartial, confidential advice and support service for the people of Coventry.
