University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) is one of the UK's largest teaching Trusts responsible for managing two major hospitals in Coventry and Rugby, which between them serve a population of over a million people. UHCW is the principal teaching hospital for Warwick Medical School working in close partnership to develop innovative medical education programmes and clinical research. UHCW provides a wide range of planned and emergency services to patients, specialist tertiary services such as cancer treatment and renal transplant, and is the sole, capable provider of major trauma services in Coventry and Warwickshire and beyond. The Trust was first established in 1992 and expanded to include Rugby in 1998.
